LOCAL RV DEALER GOES GREEN
EVANSVILLE, IN – SEPTEMBER 23, 2011: American RV Center, located in Evansville, IN, recently joined the green movement by replacing the entire lighting system within the dealership. Old HID lights were replaced in both the 25,000 square foot RV showroom and the similarly sized 18-bay service center, as well as replacing standard fluorescent fixtures in all offices and the parts department. The change will yield an energy savings of 59.1% annually. The new lighting system consists of Alumabeam T5 and T8 fixtures throughout, with 2/3 of the lights employing motion sensor technology to further save energy in low traffic areas.
The following Environmental Impact comparisons illustrate the effectiveness of this retrofit:
• 114,302 kWh Annual Reduction
• 196,559 lbs of CO2 emissions reduction
• Equivalent of 16 cars removed from road
• Equivalent of 1,926 trees planted
RV Manufacturers have also entered into the green movement within the last few years. Independent Green Certifiers tour and certify the factory’s production methods, materials, and environmental impact. All four manufacturers represented on American RV Center’s lot are certified green RV manufacturers.
American RV Center is proud to be a positive influence to the community by reducing energy consumption and being a responsible citizen.
