Popular RV Destinations in Indiana

Indiana Dunes National Park has over 15,000 acres of historic and unique Hoosier landscape. In 1925, this park was established after years of scientists and recreationists noticing the value and potential of the area and fighting for its preservation. Here you will find large sand dunes along the shoreline that have taken thousands of years to form and tower above Lake Michigan. Hikers can enjoy 50 miles of trails that pass through rugged dunes, prairies, wetlands, and forests. Be on the lookout for rare species of birds flying high amongst the kites!

Since 1916, Turkey Run State Park has been a go-to for families, tourists, and locals alike to make lifelong memories. This park offers many activities, but booking fills fast so plan on reserving a campsite at least 6 months in advance and a cabin 1 year in advance. At this state park, you can visit historic pioneer sites, kayak through Sugar Creek, horseback ride at Saddle Barn and so much more. Sugar Creek runs through the heart of the park and is one of Indiana’s most popular canoe streams.

When visitors step foot into Brown County State Park in Nashville, Indiana, they immediately fall in love. At this park families and adventurers can go swimming, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and so much more. Make sure to make a stop by the Abe Martin Lodge, also known as the Brown County State Park Inn, and enjoy the restaurant and aquatic center. Camping options include electric and non-electric motorhome sites, electric and primitive horsemen sites, a rally campground and a youth tent area.

With over 5,000 acres, Charlestown State Park is Indiana’s third-largest state park. Charlestown has so much to offer its visitors such as rugged hills, ravines, and the remnants of a 1920’s era amusement park which gives people a glimpse into the long-standing history of the area. If you love to hike then make sure to trek along the 15 miles of trails that range from rigorous to easy and will take you throughout the forest to see wildflowers, fossil outcroppings, and large sinkholes. This state park features over 100 campsites including electric and full hookup RV sites.
